After nearly 4 years of research Marshall Electronics has finished the development of a new digital signal processing technology. This technology allows a single timing generator and processing chip to drive 4 CCD chips. This completely eliminates the need for memory (conventional quad splitters use this to store a picture from each CCD) and is accomplished by using a high-speed processor which reads the raw data from each CCD simultaneously. This approach makes the V-DOME4 cost effective because it eliminates the need for a lot of expensive chips that are usually used in conventional quad splitters. Marshall expects to offer a color version of the V-DOME4 sometime next year. Power supply included. |
